The Honest Truth About Free Trial Health Supplements Online
I overheard a talk today at work and it sort of aggravated me, so I figured I would write about it to communicate my thoughts. The conversation was happening between two other ladies and they were discussing the free trial dietary supplements provided on the web. One girl, Mary, had just received a complimentary trial of an acai berry supplement sent to her home and was excited about it and was sharing the news with another girl Stephanie. Stephanie instantly began telling Mary that she had been exploited, and the way in which the whole free trial deal on line is a scam and how nothing in life is free, how her credit card was going to be billed over and over and there is nothing she will be able to do about it. Blah blah blah. Mary went from extremely excited to really concerned but she really needn’t feel that way. I’ll explain why.
I myself get free products from the net all the time. I have received samples of acai berry supplements, resveratrol supplements, colonic cleanse supplements, acai with green tea extract, you name it, I in all likelihood used it or still use it. Was I scammed? Not at all. So, what’s all the discussion about being tricked and the way the products aren’t truly free, or whether they even work or not?
Let me try to answer these statements one at a time. Are the supplements actually free? Not entirely, but for the most part, yeah. You see, you get a trial bottle of the supplement, whether it be a 14 day trial, thirty day trial, whichever. However, you have to pay for the freight charges. Generally less than $10. Here’s where the initial cost comes in. So why do they charge to ship and offer the product free of charge? Well, a lot of people won’t try something if they aren’t sure if it works, but if they don’t have alot to lose, they would give it a try. The manufacturers know this, which is why they offer you the 1st bottle at no charge. They ask for a credit card number to pay for the shipping because they are confident about their supplements and they would like you to continue as a customer, so the fine print is that they will charge your credit card again after 30 days and send you a new bottle. If you don’t want to be charged because the product didn’t work for you, and it may not work because everybody is different, than just phone the toll free number to cancel it. It’s as straightforward as that. And you won’t be billed again. I have done this time and again without bother and I pay close attention to my creditcard statements and have seen no shady business going on.
You see, offering something for free up front, asking for a Visa to pay shipping, and billing monthly is a great business structure. It works, that’s the reason why these firms do it. They know what works and they need to make money. I doubt that any of them are looking to sting anyone or they would not be in business all that long. Almost all of the trial takers enjoy the product and see results so the company knows they’ll get back the expenses of offering something free. And I am certain they get a decent margin so it wouldn’t take them too long.
Now, using famous celebrities to help with promotion is a bit shady I admit, but that has been going on for years . Watch any commercial and see if you can not spot a celeb. And do you believe they really use the product being publicized. I doubt it. They just get paid well as a spokesperson. Those kinds of promos online are being tightened up on so you probably won’t see much of that anymore anyway.
As for the safety of the supplements, I myself only use superfoods or products that are natural. I don’t look for weight reduction products with chemicals and other crap. I get products that contribute to healing, not ones which make me sicker. In the case of acai, I will be getting really powerful antioxidants to keep the free radicals in check. For colon cleansing products, I am going to be getting assistance ridding my body of waste and losing weight in the process.
Well, that’s my time. Hope I cleared up any confusion and that you feel safer about any free trial product offers that are offered on line.
